Human Powered Vehicle (HPV)
The goal of the Human Powered Vehicle Team is to produce a new vehicle every year for collegiate competition. Currently, Cal Poly is one of only three schools that has raced in each ASME competition. Cal Poly has been and remains one of the top contenders in the collegiate races.
Cal Poly has placed in the top four spots for both the sprints and the endurance race in four of the last five years. This year, as is usually the goal, Cal Poly hopes to place first overall in the nation and eventually break the school speed record of 54 mph set by Intuition in 1994.
