Dr. Thorncroft’s PhD research specialized in theoretical analysis and experimental study of boiling heat transfer. His focus at Cal Poly is thermal/fluid systems and educational laboratory design, especially the application of statistics to laboratory measurement and engineering design. He also continues research and consulting in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and educational experiment design.
